The next youngest class added to Diablo is the Crusader - although it’s arguable it’s a spiritual cousin to the Diablo 2 Paladin and D3 Templar - and there’s a solid case for it making a return. If the managers of the franchise decide to go for synergy between the two games, it could make sense to add the Blood Knight - and with Gea Kul already present in game it may simply be a matter of adding a small story quest to introduce them. In addition there is a reference to Fernam and the Blood Knights in the Book of Lorath, thus canonizing their existence in the main story. While there isn’t much direct evidence that a Blood Knight will be the next class added to D4 it’s hard to escape how important blood and blood magic are to the plot of the game. The Blood Knight is the most recent class added to the Diablo franchise it made its debut in Diablo Immortal earlier this month. Martial Warriors: Blood Knight, Crusader, and Amazon Lyndon’s return in D4 after his role as follower in Diablo 3 was a welcome one, but the idea that his existence as an NPC questgiver heralds the addition of a playable Scoundrel feels farfetched. In both cases the reasoning is simple, as the Rogue already covers the vast range of their class skills and techniques. Tread carefully, adventurer! Rogue Lite: Scoundrel and Demon Hunterīefore we cover the classes that could be added next, let’s dispense with two possible ones that most definitely should not be returning: the Demon Hunter and the Scoundrel. This post contains spoilers for Diablo 4 both the main campaign and side quests. While it’s arguable the development team could add any class they feel like adding, the amount of depth in the narrative suggests that the groundwork for future classes may already have been laid down. Which class could be added next is a tough question to answer, but there are various hints in D4 as well as in the Book of Lorath and Diablo Immortal. Regardless of where our hero may go in Sanctuary it is extremely likely that there will be at least one more class added to the game each expansion, and possibly even added as a DLC like Diablo 3‘s Necromancer. Diablo 4‘s popularity as well as its open-ended story means that an expansion (or three) is a matter of when, not if.
